For me, and I think for many other writers too, writing is a bit like trying to fall asleep. It’s not something you can really force. Incentives or otherwise, the best stuff happens when you just sink into it.

Before you know it, boom, 750 words, out in 30 minutes. Right, to the Café! Proceed to feel sensationally creative for the next 2 hours.

This is the timeliest of pieces. I hope this makes sense to say, or doesn’t seem odd---but I am so glad that you think the way that you do. It is very good for the world.

Lovely piece.

Humans aren’t meant to consume or create this much information so regularly. It is unnatural.

Which means it is completely natural that you, and others, feel the way you do.

The most important thing is your health and well being. There’s a time and place to push ourselves to reach our goals. There are struggles and periods of discomfort we must endure in order to grow and become better versions of ourselves.

But you must decide, being very honest with yourself, whether what you’re facing now is because of an unsustainable lifestyle or a challenging period you need to work through.

From your writing, it seems like the former. It could be beneficial to take some time away from anything online. Sit with yourself, meditate, journal, go deep and ask what you really want out of the last 5 years of your twenties.

I’ve found we need to remove ourselves from the systems and routines we think we need and have grown accustomed to so we may understand if they are actually serving us or if we are serving them.

Best of luck on your writing.

Sometimes I think that is why I write poetry… it comes in bursts , short pieces I can wrap up and put to bed, and unlike a novel or even a short story, I’m on to the next thought. I still have my home in the collected experience without having the prolonged buildup.
